You’ve already read our cashback guide, but your orders still do not track?
Here you will find some more advanced tips and advice which will help you to avoid missing out on cashback.
Use a “shopping” browser: Since deleting cookies, and especially cache, can be quite annoying (e.g. it’ll probably remove all your saved passwords), we recommend using a separate browser for earning cashback while shopping. E.g. if you usually use Chrome on a daily basis, you could shop and earn cashback via Firefox (or vice versa).
No incognito mode or cookie blockers: Make sure to not use incognito mode or any software or browser setting that prevents the use of cookies.
No international VPN connection: As most shops only register purchases made in the UK, it is important that you do not use VPN connections which locate your IP address outside of the UK.
Empty shopping basket: Make sure no items are in your shopping basket at the time you enter the shop page (This e.g. could be the case if you added something to the basket in a previous browser session).
Avoid using multiple tabs: Make sure to finish your purchase within the same tab that was initially opened for you by Rakuten after clicking on the “go to”-button/after activating cashback through the browser extension.
Avoid long shopping sessions: We recommend finalising your purchase in a reasonable time after entering the shop page. The longer the shopping session, the higher the chance of the shop disabling the order tracking.
Don’t interrupt checkout: Once you entered the checkout area of the shop page, do not click back and forth.
Don’t buy on credit: Select common payment methods (e.g. PayPal, credit card, invoice, etc.)
If you realize that you did not follow some of the mentioned tips, we recommend re-starting the cashback journey. Even though this will take some extra time, it’s worth ensuring that your purchase will be tracked.
Open up a new browser session, clear cookies and cache, and go back to Rakuten.co.uk to be re-directed to the shop website to activate cashback and complete your purchase.
